Friends are Fun
During the first school holiday of the year me and my two best friends (Amber and Siobhan) went to Westfield, Riccarton mall. Thanks to Siobhan’s kind invite and well planned activity of the day, we got to hang out without strict supervision.
Monday morning, the day I was waiting for. I arrived fifteen minutes earlier than our meeting time because I was extremely excited to see my friends. Waiting, I called Amber because she was still not at our meeting place. Unbelievably she told me that she was still at home. My heart was escaping from its place until Siobhan arrived as soon as I ended the call. I told her about me and Amber’s ridiculous conversation. Not bothering to wait for Amber, we left and decided to buy snacks for the movie.
Wandering around the huge supermarket I suddenly craved for sweets. Siobhan was hesitating to buy something and just decided to not buy anything. Satisfied with what I bought, we went back to our meeting place. Amber was greeting us with her arms folded and said “Call again later huh?”. I checked my phone and saw one missed call from Amber. Instead I said “You’re thirty minutes late”.
We watched a movie after Amber’s tiresome explanation. The movie was so inspiring and I thought that beautiful and gorgeous was not the right word for it, I thought it was beyond glamorous. I could tell that Amber had an innocent mind that she could barely look at a simple kiss. It was so funny I almost laughed out loud in the cinemas.
The following thirty minutes, we walked around the mall to find what to eat for lunch. We decided to eat at SoYo (a yoghurt ice cream shop), since we were still not hungry. I was fascinated by the assorted flavours and toppings that I could put in one tiny cup, it was Amber’s first time and she picked a flavour she didn’t really fancy. We ate with a smile on our faces and chatted about how the movie was incredible.
Finishing the last spoon of our dessert, we decided to blast off and waste our energy at Timezone. Me and Amber shared our turns using our Timezone card because she didn’t have one. The first game we did was the basketball one. Siobhan did it professionally, of course, while I was helping her behind. Amber was cheering for us too. Tickets and more tickets coming out of the machine as we pulled it out and exclaim “Let’s do another one!”.
The time was moving fast but we were moving faster. Ten minutes was left for us to choose a prize. After all those games and tickets we received, we agreed to not purchase any prize. I checked my watch and told the two young ladies behind me “We have to go”. With no more energy I realized… ”We should’ve made the time longer”. Siobhan and Amber agreed with me as we stepped into the cold yet refreshing wind of the mall.
Siobhan’s mum arrived first to pick Siobhan. “Mum can you pick me up at three thirty?” She took the risk to ask but unfortunately she said “No”. We said our goodbyes and realized that I was desperately craving for Sushi. Me and Amber bought our snacks and ate them with a nervous look because we didn’t want her mum to pick us up too soon. Exactly after finishing my food Amber’s mum arrived. I went home with Amber since my mum had work. In the van I exploded K-Pop music that are catchy to engage Amber. Sadly, It didn’t work.
That day, I felt extremely delighted and excited that with my precious friends. The time seemed short but we did a lot of enjoyable activities, especially in Timezone. Next time I could recommend Siobhan to invite more friends. We could also do more activities next time (Like thrilling ones!).
