Fish In a Tree
Last term our class teacher read us a book called "Fish in a Tree". To show that we really listened to the story we had to make a character description of one of the characters from the book. What I found hard was adding more information and facts about the character that I chose. What I found exciting was drawing the character with my own imagination. Next time I will add more information and images

Ballad Poem
Several weeks ago my class read a story about Ben Hall. His story was a Ballad Poem. After learning more about Ballad Poems our teacher told my class to do one ourselves. Our Ballad Poem had to include different types of figurative languages. What I found hard was making my sentences flow with the rhymes. What I found really exciting was making my my poem about Kpop. I will work on making my poem make more sense next time. (Kpop=Korean Pop)
Just Kpop, I Love it
Just Kpop, I Love it
Eyes glued on the phone, fingers swiping up and down
Before that happened she was on a chair with a crown
“Kpop” she wondered with a mesmerizing stare
Natalie discovered something from a glare
Yet right now her mighty pillow was pulling her hair
Infinite was the name, how unique she said
Searching videos and shows what she knew spread
Step, slide, lie the door waved its body
Shut her eyes pretending like it’s not naughty
Back to work, eat and watch with some sushi
Lovelyz, Got7 and several more
But she had to leave the country and explore
She felt excited to meet new people
Natalie knew she would never feel dull
Oops too much Kpop, for now it’s illegal
School is the place where she knew it’s famous
Asking around like a chatterbox, yet their response were so brainless
All alone and frustrated sulking on one side
Natalie never thought that she had cried
Strategy failed; it was to hypnotise
Months had passed now she knows what to do
Watch Kdrama because it’s something new
Now Natalie nailed knowing numerous names
Plus she can explain how they not look the same
In the end two girls came and that’s how Kpop got its fame

Refugee by Alan Gratz
For the past few weeks, our class has been listening to the story Refugee by Alan Gratz. Every week we have activities to do related to the story, afterwards we add it into our slideshow. What I found hard was keeping up on listening to the story. What I found exciting was learning different languages from different countries. Next time I will focus more on listening and understanding a story.

Amazing Angles
For the past two weeks my class had been learning about Angles. Our class had to make an interactive DLO on what we've learnt about angles. I enjoyed doing this learning because I learnt more than what I knew. What I found hard was making my DLO creatively. Next time I will make my own designs and make a longer explanation.

My Holiday
Finally, back to school. During the first week of school our class had to do a Recount. A recount is a story about what exciting happened to you or simply, your holidays. I did a Recount about me and my friends. What I found hard was making my recount shorter and using different time words. It was fun to remember my holiday with them. Next time I will have more vocabulary in my work. Here is my Recount:
Friends are Fun
During the first school holiday of the year me and my two best friends (Amber and Siobhan) went to Westfield, Riccarton mall. Thanks to Siobhan’s kind invite and well planned activity of the day, we got to hang out without strict supervision.
Monday morning, the day I was waiting for. I arrived fifteen minutes earlier than our meeting time because I was extremely excited to see my friends. Waiting, I called Amber because she was still not at our meeting place. Unbelievably she told me that she was still at home. My heart was escaping from its place until Siobhan arrived as soon as I ended the call. I told her about me and Amber’s ridiculous conversation. Not bothering to wait for Amber, we left and decided to buy snacks for the movie.
Wandering around the huge supermarket I suddenly craved for sweets. Siobhan was hesitating to buy something and just decided to not buy anything. Satisfied with what I bought, we went back to our meeting place. Amber was greeting us with her arms folded and said “Call again later huh?”. I checked my phone and saw one missed call from Amber. Instead I said “You’re thirty minutes late”.
We watched a movie after Amber’s tiresome explanation. The movie was so inspiring and I thought that beautiful and gorgeous was not the right word for it, I thought it was beyond glamorous. I could tell that Amber had an innocent mind that she could barely look at a simple kiss. It was so funny I almost laughed out loud in the cinemas.
The following thirty minutes, we walked around the mall to find what to eat for lunch. We decided to eat at SoYo (a yoghurt ice cream shop), since we were still not hungry. I was fascinated by the assorted flavours and toppings that I could put in one tiny cup, it was Amber’s first time and she picked a flavour she didn’t really fancy. We ate with a smile on our faces and chatted about how the movie was incredible.
Finishing the last spoon of our dessert, we decided to blast off and waste our energy at Timezone. Me and Amber shared our turns using our Timezone card because she didn’t have one. The first game we did was the basketball one. Siobhan did it professionally, of course, while I was helping her behind. Amber was cheering for us too. Tickets and more tickets coming out of the machine as we pulled it out and exclaim “Let’s do another one!”.
The time was moving fast but we were moving faster. Ten minutes was left for us to choose a prize. After all those games and tickets we received, we agreed to not purchase any prize. I checked my watch and told the two young ladies behind me “We have to go”. With no more energy I realized… ”We should’ve made the time longer”. Siobhan and Amber agreed with me as we stepped into the cold yet refreshing wind of the mall.
Siobhan’s mum arrived first to pick Siobhan. “Mum can you pick me up at three thirty?” She took the risk to ask but unfortunately she said “No”. We said our goodbyes and realized that I was desperately craving for Sushi. Me and Amber bought our snacks and ate them with a nervous look because we didn’t want her mum to pick us up too soon. Exactly after finishing my food Amber’s mum arrived. I went home with Amber since my mum had work. In the van I exploded K-Pop music that are catchy to engage Amber. Sadly, It didn’t work.
That day, I felt extremely delighted and excited that with my precious friends. The time seemed short but we did a lot of enjoyable activities, especially in Timezone. Next time I could recommend Siobhan to invite more friends. We could also do more activities next time (Like thrilling ones!).
