Captivating Camp

In my school, the senior students (Years 5-8), went on a 3 day camp at Woodend Christian Camp. We had fun activities including Go Karts, Orienteering, Wall Climbing, Aero Jump, Mini Golf, Archery, Air Rifles, Team building and Flying Fox. We also did a game called 'Spotlight'. Spotlight is a game that is played during night time and using a torch/flashlight. A person will have their torch on and when they find another person hiding, they flash them their torch and say "Spotlight!". I enjoyed all the activities but my favourite activity was the Go Karts. This activity made me feel free because I could drive without a limit.

Talking about favourites, my favourite memory was the game Spotlight. All of the students were included in this game. We get to decide which place to hide in and I hid with my friends behind a very large tree with bushes. I believed that our hiding spot was perfect because it was like a hidden cave. Everything was perfect, but, the noise that we were making was extremely hilarious! We kept on giggling and laughing because of our humorous friend (Lucas). We couldn't hold our laughter therefore our teacher and a student found us.

During the time before we got caught, I was moving into a different spot and moved a branch that I couldn't really see. Behind me was Lucas and before I knew it the sharp tree branches slapped his face in the dark. He showed a very hilarious reaction that made all of us laugh. Afterwards, we got caught. Even though we got caught by the spotlight, I enjoyed this game because I had a very good laugh from a friend.

There were also other activities in camp like life-sized chess and the playground. I played chess several times with different chess players. I was a total beginner in chess but I tried my best to win and I did won several times. The playground was enjoyable because the swing and slide was very refreshing and I enjoyed the warm air going through my face.

The last day came and we did our last activities. There were lots of activities that I enjoyed and there were also several things that I disliked about camp (Showers). I enjoyed going to camp because I got to do activities that I liked.
