Emotionally Funny

WALT...Use the correct structure for a recount. This week is our first week of the second term so our class talked about writing about what we did interesting or fun in the holidays. We are learning about writing a proper recount/structure. For better results, I could improve more by having more knowledge about a recount. The title of my story is "Emotionally Funny":

Me and my family went to the mall at Westfield, Riccarton to watch the movies during the first week of holiday. My mum divided us into two groups because my older brother wanted to watch a different movie. The boys: My dad and older brother watched the movie called ’Fate and the Furious. The girls: My mum, younger sister and me watched a comedy movie called ‘The Boss Baby’.

After buying the movie tickets we went to the supermarket to buy chips, chocolates and drinks for the movie. The boys had to go to the cinema first because their movie is starting earlier. My group came in after a few minutes. I was the first person to enter the cinema so I got excited and ran to our assigned seat. The cinema that we’re in was smaller than I expected because I got used to big cinemas.

After watching the movie my mum sister and I got teary-eyed because of the emotionally funny story of the movie. We got out of the cinema first before the boys because their movie was longer. We waited outside the cinema and while waiting, a little girl gave my sister a cupcake (it was for free because the mall was closing) and she shyly thanked her. I was listening to music while waiting and finally the boys went out.

All of us went straight to home because it was already late. We talked about the movie that we watched while my dad was driving. That night was indeed a fun night.
